This is the next stage of my Nostromo project. I have completed both the ladderway room which connects a number of hallways and this medical bay/scient lab with the famous autodoc scanning chamber.
Everything in this project was built from the ground up by me, including meshes, textures, shaders, lighting, VFX, and more.
This project uses a face-weighted normals mid-poly workflow for mesh development and parallax occlusion (POM) decals for panel lines and other detail works. I am using Unreal's material layer blending system for most of the architectural pieces to bring texture size down and free up memory.
I took a lot of inspiration from Ian Stewart's interpretation of this room, so big shoutout to his amazing work!
Very excite to get going on the rest of the Nostromo's flight deck!
